About two weeks before the move I emailed Gabriel, the Director of Operations allayed all my fears and confirmed that my time and locations were booked. On the day of, Mauricio (driver) introduced himself as the main contact, walked through what we were moving, and assured me that it would be no problem to help me take apart my bed (this bed is an antique, wooden four poster monstrosity/beauty). Everything went like clockwork, one guy wrapped stuff with plastic and blankets (the relevant items of course) and the other two worked on the bed. One of the two big issues was that the bed hadn't been put together properly and the bolts were imbedded in the wood and honestly, we were all thinking it might not be doable to undo it--but these guys are persistent and eventually they found a way to break it down if not completely than at least to a moveable level. And then they built it back up for me at the studio I was moving into, no questions asked. The second hiccup was in regards to this amazing 9 foot armoire that weighs a TON and is extremely bulky. Again there was an issue when we thought it might not fit into the elevator but one of the gents suggested unscrewing the legs--and voila!!!! So bottom line, these guys are modestly priced but you get seriously superior service! My mother who has moved at least 20 times with movers was so impressed! so when she moves (yet again!) she will definitely be calling Movers On Duty for help. THANK YOU GUYS!!!! Oh! And all my stuff was unscratched and undamaged |
