These scammers have a play book. 1) It starts with the agent asking you what your budget for moving. They then quote you something near your budget to get your business. Once the movers get to your home, they upcharge the price. 2) They schedule the pickup and drop-off close enough to where your outside the window of any other to collect your things once you hear the REAL price. 3) They have a charge they call long carry. My apartment is Right outside the elevator . They parked the truck right outside my apartment take 20 steps and still want to charge me for it. The charge is $1 per foot. It's supposed to be after 70 ft but they WANT to charge you this 4) Different teams load and unload your items between different trucks at the wearhouse multiple times, which explains why there's so many missing items and damage claims. 5) They take different forms of payment on pickup, but drop off can only be in cash or money orders from a nationwide company (no local, regional, or state businesses). This would be fine, but they told me this on a Sunday evening with an early morning drop off. Of course, banks and post offices are closed until after the drop off. YEAAHHH they really want you to use cash. 6) If you're like me and think money orders are safer than cash, but theres no Walmart in your city and banks/post offices are closed, they'll deny your money order if it's not from those businesses, likely to get you to give them cash. They're quit to get out of there if you don't have bills. 7) More of a IRS possible scam, but as I mentioned thousands of dollars in just CASH. Scam behavior 8) I was about to talk my way out of a long carry fee, they then came up with a $150 elevator fee. Not in the contract, he couldn't show me his contract. When I argued it they said they'd charge for the extra time disputing the charges Objectively, they're scum and need to be shut down. They also really want you to pay cash only on delivery! IRS, look into their tax situation NOW! |
