I used Advanced movers come a few months earlier for loading a truck going across country. The crew did a great job. I arranged in advance w Duane to have the same great crew for our final move plus an additional man. A different crew came to load the truck. A father and son and a younger girl who did not appear to have a clue what to do and mostly just tried to keep out of the guys way. My belief is they brought her simply so they could say they had a 3 person crew. The father and son worked hard and were friendly but did not have the correct tools to take our bed apart and after stripping the bolts asked me if I had the correct tool. I told them 3 times we were going across country and there were 6 dozen moving pads for them to use. They used 3 dozen and never bothered to open the other three. When our crew unloaded the truck in Flordia a wall mirror frame was broken and our dining room chair had a brown rub mark on the leather that will not come out which the moving pads would have avoided. Several other scratches in wood that I fixed w a touch up pen that would have been avoided by using the pads. I contacted the owner Duane and told him I was unhappy that the crew I requested did not come out and noted the above issues. He said he fired my requested crew for taking a side job. My comment was why didn't you inform me of the change? Of course the crew told the owner the bed was stripped when they started. The bed was newly installed by rooms to go and bolts go in clockwise and had never been removed counterclockwise so they could not have been stripped. Why would the man ask if I had the correct tool to remove the bolts? The mirror was just bad packing. .....Very disappointed... |
