I hired this company to move my property from Pasadena, Maryland to Palm bay, Florida about 1000 miles. I spoke to a Juan on the phone while booking this move. I am a single female registered nurse relocating for work and I did not have many items to be moved. Juan quoted me $1673.00 to complete the job. When the movers arrived, they loaded my things, and then told me that I had too many items and they needed to charge me more for the move and told me that the new total for this move would cost me $2693.00. My belongings were already on the truck and I had a deadline to start a new job so I really had no choice but to pay the extra money. So I did not complain, I paid the extra money even though I only had a box or two extra then what I was originally quoted. I was settling on a house and was not settling for about 30 days; this company offered 30 days of free storage. Juan told me that my belongings would be stored at a secure location in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I was told that I needed to fill out a request form to receive my belongings and that the company would take 2-10 days to deliver my items. I completed this form on November 6th to receive my items. I confirmed with the company that they received my request via fax. I was told that I would be notified when my items were being shipped. 10 days goes by an no one called me. I attempted to call this company multiple times without any answer. I finally spoke to someone in customer service who hung-up on me. I kept calling and calling. I was finally told by a representative that by law the company has 30 business days to delivery my items and they will notify me when my items have been loaded onto a truck in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; which was not the location I was told my belongings were going to be stored at. I patiently waited because at this point I had no other option. I received an email 3 days ago stating that I owed this company $1200.00 to complete this move and my contract stated that I only owed $700.00 of the remaining balance. I emailed and called Jerry, Sharron and Shaneque H about these false charges and not one person would respond to my email or my phone call. At this point I just wanted my belongings so I was going to pay the difference. On December 18th, my items were finally delivered. The driver told me I only owed the company $700.00 and that is what I paid. Then when I received my items 80% of my items were destroyed or broken. It is like they just threw my items. Boxes were ripped open. Items are missing. I have boxes that are not even mine. The driver was trying to give me a cabinet that was not even mine and he did not know who it belonged to. I packed my dishes in expensive rubbermaid containers to prevent things from breaking. All of my plates, bowls, cooking glasses, mugs, and cups are in pieces. My end table is in pieces. My expensive sturdy all wood king bed has gashes all over it. My expensive all wood dining room table and chairs have scratches and gashes all over them. Almost all of my things are ruined. I understand things will break will a long move but this is ridiculous. I have used many moving companies and I have never been so disrespected in my life. This company is a disgrace and should no longer be in business. |
