7/20/2012 Note: I used Xpress for a local move, just a few miles, and it was booked through Town's concierge. I was really pleased with [Hungarian] Mike and his team. I made sure to pack up everything before their arrival, so they moved my stuff quite quickly. They moved me from the Lower East Side to Gramercy Park. They were prompt, and very friendly. I really appreciated Mike's jokes, as it had been a really stressful moving situation for me (long story short, my new place wasn't ready for me to move into, so I had to ask my old land lord for more time, etc). It sounds obvious, but Mike intelligently removed the feet from my sofa, which allowed them to get it out the doorway quite quickly. When I moved in a couple years ago, a different moving company had refused to do this, so it took them quite a while to navigate the sofa into my apartment, and they managed to scuff up the wall (ugh). It's always nice when someone takes the extra time to do it the right way, so thanks Mike! I should also add they were great with allowing me to reschedule my move from the end of June to mid July. I would definitely consider using them again in the future. |
