WARNING!!! Do not use these movers!!!They are unprofessional and do not know how to respond to issues when they arise. We hired them for a move from WV to TX. We learned after the fact that they do not carry a DOT interstate carrier license which is required by the DOT to conduct moves across interstate lines. Also, they rent all of their trucks from places like U-HAUL and Budget so they don't even have their own trucks and equipment. They grossly underestimated how big of a truck and how many trucks they would need for our 4 bedroom house. They started out with one 26 foot truck, packed it full, realized they needed another truck, so went to another self-move company and got a 16 foot truck. Well, they packed that full too. They went back to another place to get a trailer, packed it full and then realized they would need another trailer to attach to the other truck. But even this wasn't enough... They were literally packing our stuff in the cabs of both of the trucks and using our 18 foot boat and personally owned vehicle to stuff even more things. Their packing was terrible... So many of our items were broken or damaged during the move. Also, we had entire boxes and items show up missing... I'm not sure whether they stole the items or simply did not have room for them and disposed of them. But literally, I am missing most of the contents of my laundry room to include laundry baskets, detergent, cleaning supplies, trash cans, an entire set of cloth diapers ($800!!!)... The list of items that were damaged is so extensive I can't list them all, but very few of our delicate items were properly wrapped or boxed to include a very expensive stereo system with fragile speakers and a subwoofer. It was simply placed in a box, no padding wrapping or anything to protect it. They hired workers external to their company to help them with the loading and unloading of all of our belongings. The two guys they hired in Texas to unload were two guys (very likely undocumented illegal immigrants) they picked up at a local Home Depot parking lot that did not speak any English. Also, these professional movers do not have the resources to purchase hotel rooms, plane tickets, or rent their own vehicles to drive themselves back to WV. Apparently, they maxed their credit cards with all the truck and trailer rentals they had to do for our move. They asked us to pay for their hotel room and then asked us to personally rent them a vehicle to drive back to WV, which is illegal. The company admitted their were lots of mistakes and learning points from our move. When we conceived them with our list of damaged items and completely missing items, they refused to reimburse for anything and said they would retain legal counsel. We plan on taking them to small claims court to recoup all of our damages. Do not use such an unprofessional company!!! They have so much to learn about moving (remember they are supposed to be professional movers?) and customer service. I will post the judgment we receive after we have our day in court. |
