6/13/2011 I hired focus movers for a recent move from York, PA to Hagerstown, MD. They arrived with the truck at my apartment in York right on time. Scheduling was super easy, and they called the day before to confirm the details. My move was scheduled in the afternoon, as they were coming from another job in the morning, and they stayed in contact with me to let me know when they were leaving the first job to head to my apartment. Once they arrived, I couldn't believe how quickly we moved my entire one-bedroom apartment! I had three people, including myself, moving smaller boxes and lighter things while the three Focus Movers guys moved the heavy furniture. Both my York apartment and Hagerstown apartment were on the third floor and it only took one-hour to load the truck in York and another hour to unload it in Hagerstown. I was a bit nervous hiring movers that charge by the hour. I was afraid they would take their time in order to make more money. That was not the case at all! The Focus Movers guys busted their butts to move my things as quickly as possible. They knew I was on a budget and really went above and beyond to get as much done in as little time as possible. A few of my pieces of furniture did suffer some light scratches and scuff marks, but I really don't think there's any way around that in a move. If you do have expensive or fragile pieces, I would just give them a heads up to move those carefully and ask that they take their time with them. I was much more concerned with speed and budget than scratches. Another bonus with this company is that they did not require a credit card number to hold the date. I had heard so many stories of companies like this being a scam, that I was really apprehensive about disclosing my credit card information. I was able to pay in cash and I was with my belongings the entire time. That really gave me piece of mind that they were not trying to steal my information or hold my furniture hostage. |
