I hired Express Movers for a move on Saturday, June 25. They were to arrive at 10 a.m. about 10:40 a.m. the mover, Mike, called and said the owner was out of town and their wires had been crossed. He asked if I still needed them and I said I did. I told him it was critical that I get moved because new tenants were moving in on Tuesday. He said he would pick up his partner and the truck and be on the way. He estimated that he would arrive in Columbus in 2-1/2 hours. At 12:30, he called back to say they didn't have a truck because it wasn't returned to the lot, and asked if I could reschedule the move for Sunday morning. I agreed. That evening, the owner, Bruce, called an apologized and assured me that the movers would be there by 9:30 Sunday morning. Sunday morning came, but the movers did not. I called Mike and got now answer. I called the owner and he said Mike must be on the way and not answering because he was driving. When the truck did not arrive by noon, I called Mike again and asked him to please let me know if he was not coming so I could try to figure out an alternate plan. I got no answer and left a message. I then called the owner and got no answer and left the same message, asking him to please contact me to let me know if the crew was or was not coming. I did not get a return call from either Mike or Bruce and was left stranded to figure out how to get an entire house of furniture moved on a Sunday afternoon. What a nightmare! |
