The Uhaul place I eventually picked up from was excellent. Overall, my uhaul experience this time around was terrible. I made a reservation, and when I went to pick it up the afternoon of 6/29 at JB auto and tire on Manchester, it was not there. I was told the truck was not returned by the previous renter and I could pick it up in the morning. I called ahead of leaving my house at 8:00 the morning of 6/30 and was told the truck was there (JB auto). I went to pick it up, but was told it was not there and they had no idea where the truck was and they could not help me. I was given the phone number to the St. Louis scheduling office and I left. Eventually, I was told that the truck I had reserved would be available at a location farther from my home (on Big Bend) in the afternoon of 6/30. I picked it up almost 24 hours after I had planned. This complicated the moving process to say the least. The folks at Big Bend were friendly, helpful, and empathetic and made this a more positive experience. |
